Spring Training

I know you won't know it by the weather we have been experiencing for the past few days (see previous post about snow in AL) but spring training is officially here for professional baseball. I don't even recall who won the World Series last year since I didn't care after the RED SOX were eliminated from the playoffs. So, I thought I would give you guys something to get you thinking about baseball and get excited about the up coming season. I want to see just how well Boston will do this year. I could care less about the other guys. I think you know who I am talking about. So here it is, I hope you like it.
Ray, people will come Ray. They will come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They will come to your driveway not really sure why they are doing it. They will arrive at your door as innocent as children. Longing for the past. "Of course we won't mind if your look around, you'll say, its only twenty dollars per person." They will pass over the money with out even thinking about it. For it is money they have but peace they lack. They will walk out to the bleachers. Sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They will find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they children and cheered their heroes and they'll watch the game. It will be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they will have to brush them way from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers, been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and could be again. Oh people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Hope this gets you excited about the upcoming season or least makes you want to watch Field of Dreams.

Roche Trivia:

Where were the games played in Braintree Little League? Not open to those who played.

Still don't have an answer my last last Roche Trivia question. Maybe you don't know OR maybe you don't know how to post a comment with your answer. Call me I can help.

Well, I don't know the answer to that question, but I love that movie, I have it on VHS somewhere at home, and that quote reminded me that the next time I am home, I need to pick that movie up. Good movie, good quote, talk to you later!

Well it is nice to see so many people are actually reading this stuff. I will try to do some more "regional" Roche Trivia. And Joey is correct, it is a great movie.
